Publicatie: Brokerage of Makelaardij

De erfgoedzorg voor immaterieel erfgoed is een zeer participatief proces. Meer nog dan bij andere erfgoedsoorten staan de mensen achter het erfgoed centraal. Zij die het doen, beleven, kennen of kunnen, zij nemen de zorg ervoor op en geven het ook opnieuw door. De UNESCO-Conventie 2003 voor het borgen van immaterieel erfgoed, waarin deze participatieve visie uitgeschreven staat, heeft significante effecten gehad op het cultureel erfgoedbeleid en de praktijk. Want welke rol neem je in dit proces dan op als erfgoedorganisatie, als erfgoedwerker?

De publicatie ‘Brokers, facilitators and mediation. Critical success (f)actors for the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage’ (Volkskunde-tijdschrift) onderzoekt het belang van erfgoedwerkers als ‘bemiddelaars’ of ‘culturele makelaars’ voor het welslagen van de zorg voor immaterieel erfgoed. Welke lessen kunnen we trekken uit internationale praktijken? Wat werkt, wat niet? Kunnen goede praktijken uit andere velden als gezondheidszorg, ontwikkelingshulp … inspirerend zijn? En welke rollen nemen erfgoedwerkers op, welke vaardigheden zijn hiervoor nodig en welke term dekt best die lading?
